Does anyone have co-workers who insist on typing in all caps?

It's maddening at times. Very hard to read to say the least. I seem to be one of the few holdouts who do it the way I was taught. I don't know who started it but I wish it was done the correct way. I mean, I went to school in the sticks; literally between the swamp and the cow pasture. And I still learned to type the correct way. :banghead:

I just don't understand why people do that. It's not at all pleasing to the eye and hard to read. Just a big pet peeve of mine. It ain't that hard to use the Shift key.

32. My dad used to type email in all caps, until I explained that it's shouting

in the cyber world. You have to know my dad. He's quite the introvert. Wouldn't shout if he were on fire. So, that took care of the caps problem.

but if he's a senior I give him props for dealing with computers and email at all. Glad that he was receptive to your suggestion about the caps. It's a bad habit that some people refuse to break.

37. My dad is a retired Ag Engineer

When his company wanted him to get trained to do design work on a computer, he insisted he would never do it. He WAS NOT going to give up his drafting board. He was ranting about this when I was home from grad school at Christmas time one year.

Then, when I came home that summer, he and I were shopping and he needed to stop by his office for something. I go into his office while he's chatting with someone in the hall. As I sit there, I realize that his drafting board is piled high with books and papers and stuff. He always kept it immaculate. So, when he comes in, I ask what's with his board. He says "Oh, I never use that anymore. I do all my designs on the computer." And he points to the computer on his desk.

That was in the 80's. I didn't get my Luddite gene from him.
