Want to see a baby elephant born in the wild, here is a great video.
The baby is born about halfway thru the video.

Elephant Birth at Ulusaba

... private game reserve in South Africa. Its very rare to see an elephant birth in the wild - we were very lucky. Elephants are in the womb for 22 months ...

5. How beautiful
and special.........

But hey its just an animal, which ultimately does not count compared to the tens of thousands of humans being born everyday 'lovingly overpopulating' the earth and decreasing every other creatures habitat to nothing. :eyes: pardon the cynicism

14. That is so beautiful, Texanwitch!

Hi ya!

Wow- this is so neat.

Did you notice how all the elephants formed a circle around her
to protect her and her baby?

They are such great animals and have a very advanced social structure
within the herd.

Thanks so much for sharing this.

:hi:

15. Hi Kajsa
I like the way elephants were touching the baby, elephants are special.

I am surprised the elephants were so calm around humans, with a baby yet.

16. I noticed that, too.

I'm thinking the herd must have known the humans
and trusted them.
Otherwise I don't think they would have allowed them
to come as close as they did.

;-)
