At the risk of pissing people off with an AI thread... Lakisha Jones just rocked the f'ng house!
Singing "You're Gonna Love Me" by Jennifer Holliday.... holy fuck, she knocked it out of the ballpark. Now, I shall await the naysayers telling me I'm a bad person for watching AI :D
3. Tonight was the first time I ever watched a whole show
(I'd seen clips and a few minutes here and there, but never a whole episode)
I just might watch the rest of the season. There were a few singers who were really good. I have to say, I was surprised. But the last woman: holy fuck is right!
4. Thank you for posting about AI! I love talking about Idol.
Let those naysayers go somewhere and sulk, I say! LaKisha was fantastic. I also liked Melinda and Stephanie. (At least those are the stand-outs that I can remember so far.)
She sounds exactly like everyone else who sings it. I am rooting for her though - my dad was stationed at Ft. Meade for over 20 years - but that was a ridiculously cliched obvious choice.
Having said that, she was my second favorite tonight. My choice would be Melinda Doolittle right now. At least as far as the girls.
Who'd a thunk we'd ever hear a Chrissie Hynde song on AI?
But I've never heard anyone sound as good as Jennifer Holliday and Lakisha Jones made it happen. I was only half watching and working at the same time, but she caught my attention and held it.
As for the Chrissie Hynde song, bleh... that was just not good for me at all.
I'll take the heat that comes along with it.... I just love me some Lakisha Jones! Oh yeah, and on the guy's side, I'm rooting for Chris Sligh... I think that's his name anyway. :D
