1. Barbara fucking Stanwyck...
In THAT dress...

(insert nerdy MGM movie trivia here) That dress, designed by Edith Head, was cut down later and used in a much later MGM movie (I forget the name)

2. I always liked Barbara Stanwyck...
She had that perfect combo of tender and tough. You get the feeling from her performances that she knew what it was to suffer.

3. She was fantastic
As a kid, I was only familiar with the near campy Stanwyck of "The Big Valley" Later on, I discovered her movies of the 30s, 40s and 50s and was blown away. And remain so.
