Refelctions by Gil Scott Heron is a 1981 release, but it has more of a 1970's sound. That would be another one.

7. Check out the Sly remix cd Different Strokes by Different Folks
Features many new artists (maroon 5, the roots, john legend, joss stone, etc) and is really really good.

4. I'd have to go with Isaac Hayes on that list...
although Marvin Gaye was incredible. I think that one of my favorite albums was EWF's Gratitude album, though. I wore that thing out.

22. War-The World is a Ghetto is at the top of my list. I had it on 8-track
then on album and now I have it on CD. Two others that haven't been mentioned yet are the Stylistics debut album and George Benson-Breezin'. I also have to acknowledge Sly Stone for getting it all started for me!
