What band name was most commonly carved on desks at your HS?
My High School, 1986-1989, gotta say it was probably Megadeth.

8. Led Zeppelin for sure
They probably had more overall than Megadeth now that I think about it.

But I suspect alot of theirs were "legacy" carvings from previous students even though they were still enormously popular among my peers.

although I do remember sitting at a desk for an entire school year with a Wu Tang Clan symbol drawn on it in black magic marker. I think it was in one of my health classes.

1. RUSH -- 2112 (always followed by that)
2. Aerosmith
3. AC/DC
4. Led Zeppelin (only carved band that I liked)
5. Kiss

I never really understood the whole Rush phenomenon. The only tune I liked was the one about the talking trees.

66. I, on the other hand,
grew up with Rush and was a faithful listener right up to and including Power Windows. They were easily my favorite band. Then they took "progressive" overboard and I couldn't stay on board anymore.

I still have all of their old albums and still listen to them.

64. Many people where I went to school had "Lawrence Welk" carved into their foreheads
with a pen knife.

Often they dribbled in ink from leaky "Bic" pens to make crude tattoos.

Most of the big time "Lawrence Welk" fans were either heroin addicts or speed freeks.

Followers of "Mitch Miller and his 'Band of Renown'" tended on the other hand to be either cokeheads or potheads.

And "magic Markers" were still a wet dream for budding graffiti artists. Come to think of it, the people in my high school were really lame and music wasn't important, and at our 38 year reunion in May (38 years, too weird) I can't wait to see all the old bald fatties talking about "the good old days".
