Would you poke fun of me if I told you...
that I am excited at the prospect of getting a new oven?? This one has been fritzy for the last month. (not catching, smelling like gas until you turn it off and back on and generally being crappy about cooking) and I find myself looking at appliance websites with all the glee of a 17 year old looking for a Prom dress.

3. not at all
my oven has been hinky for months - sometimes it works, sometimes it refuses to light at all.

I want a new one, but I guess I'll wait 'til it stops working altogether. I have a microwave/convection combo that I use when the oven acts up. It's a little harder to figure out, though.

7. That's what we were trying to do, but the gas thing is freaking me out
a bit. I've also been trying to push it along a bit.

20. Can I ask
what the going price range is for a decent gas oven? The place for mine is pretty small, so it can't be a big one. Just a typical smallish 4-burner gas range and oven.

25. I've been looking at Sears.
Their basic model gas range and oven starts at about $250.00. That is very basic. No clock, manual clean. The one we're looking at is a Kenmore with a few bells and whistles for about $450.00. ABC warehouse carries them for as low as $187.00 for a narrow, four burner one.

12. Yes! That's the thing. The last new appliance I got was a fridge and
I was positively giddy about it. These are the first totally new appliances I've ever gotten, so it's a pride of ownership thing. It's almost like when you were a kid and got new shoes. I remember thinking I could run faster, jump higher...I swear the new fridge keeps things colder/crisper. :D

I had an electric stove in my mobile home (it was the only hookup) and it just about killed me.
