Man Drives Stolen Mini Van Down School Hallway - Crashes (Driver Tasered)
<snip>

Winter Garden, Fla. -- A wild ride came to a crashing end at a school in Orange County Thursday night. A mini van could be seen jutting out of Westside Tech on Story Road in Winter Garden. Police said a man, high on drugs, stole the van before crashing it.

The silver mini-van took out columns and a vending machine at Westside Tech School on Winter Garden Road, and ended up wedged against a bathroom door. A girl was inside the bathroom at the time, but was not injured.

An officer on the scene said the van must have been going more than 35 miles per hour to get so far into the building.

The stolen van came from a nearby auto auction. When the thief drove off the auction lot, the van’s tires were punctured by anti theft devices.

The driver couldn’t drive the vehicle far, so he steered it into the school hallway to try to escape.

Officers arrested one person at the crash scene after chasing him down on foot and using a stun gun to subdue him. The suspect's name was not released. The school was open Friday morning.
