Well fuck me.
Somebody stole my identity and splurged £2000 on my credit card. :o

Glad I don't have to pay it.

2. Hopefully
in truth they fucked the credit card company. Which still isn't okay. But suppose they will get away with it.

6. £1086.66 at a travel agent
£320.00 at United Taxis in Bournemouth. £553.43 at Hertz car rental.

£320 on taxis? :wtf:

Clearly I am being impersonated by the most boring identity thief. I would have spent it on booze and coke.

10. Moi aussi!
The credit card company have been very reasonable about it so far. Actually I knew nothing of it until they sent me a letter telling me it looked like someone was ripping me/them off. I called them and they sent me a form to fill in. I have to strike off any of the transactions that actually are mine and send it back.

22. No idea
The card has never been out my possession. They could have been through my trash I suppose. I hear there is lots of useful information in there. I think I will buy a shredder. But I don't know it was that, and if it wasn't then I have no idea. Sorry I seem neither to be a good example nor a horrible warning!

29. Nah, this is just practical stuff. Money and shit. I don't get worried about that.
I insure what I can't afford to replace and only buy things I can afford. Credit card companies seem to be pretty decent about fraud and stuff. All this kind of shit I don't spend much thought on. It's emotional stuff that I can't handle.

37. It is probably because I am privileged
in that aspect of my life. I don't have to struggle to make ends meet. I am not wealthy, but I never need to worry about where my money is coming from. I am sure if I had to struggle the way some people do, I would worry about it more. My nonchalance is probably a product of my privileged life. It is the personal relationship side of my life where I remain unfulfilled.

44. It might be an advantage
But I know plenty of folks who make a fair living but worry about cash constantly, and conversely, others who are barely scraping by, yet don't lose a moment's sleep over money. I think it's more a matter of priorities and character.

As for your personal life, I guarantee that will straighten out when it's supposed to and not a moment sooner. Here's to sooner rather than later, though! :toast:

28. Your identity or your credit card?
The credit card is easy, the bank fixes that, you get a new card, and everything is cool. But it really sucks when the crooks go full-hog, make a fake I.D., and start applying for loans and other stuff in your name. And it just keeps coming back for years and years.

Good Luck!

My bank account is normal. I think they just stole my credit card details. Not the card itself though - that never left my possession.

or burn your old statements. i.d. theives can steal your info very easilly, even with as little as your full name and address, and especially your SSN. shred those credit card offers that you don't accept, too.

45. I use mine to line the guinea pigs (3) cage
And, after I clean that, I make sure to put all the poo from my dog (big lab, lots o poo) in the same garbage bag. I figure, if a person is that dedicated that they want to wade through literal mountains of shit, more power to them. My credit is so bad they'd probably pay me to take my identity back. And I have no credit cards for them to steal the numbers from (can't get any).
