Can't imagine a tidal wave would feeze. But yeah, it is a seriously cool picture.

4. To me it looks like a melting glacier that just so happens to
resemble a tidal wave.

I'll see if I can find a few pics for comparison.

5. Here is the Wilson Piedmont Glacier, this isn't a very good pic, but it is the
the best I have There is no rock in that back wall--the dirt you see is scour. Plus, this one is more uniformly white so the structure doesn't show up as well as in the OP's but it was still neat to be there.

3. I love blue glacial ice--it's even prettier from the inside.
I've never seen so much bare ice exposed in one spot though. (The Wilson Piedmont glacier (Which was by a camp I was stationed at for awhile) still looked mostly white.

The ice cubes made some damned fine screwdrivers--or scotch and waters! B-)
