Some small storage boxes from Sterilite.

The boxes are see thru with a nice blue tint.

Well made products.

2. I have a really excellent and well-made t-shirt........
Very heavy all-cotton......

Made in the USA!

I wear it to the gym, and it hardly shows any wear!

6. My old T-shirts that were made in America lasted a long time.
I have only a few left.

5. A surprisingly large number of plastic products are made in the USA
A whole range of pool toys, for example. And that plastic stackable lawn furniture you see everywhere very likely came from a factory just a few miles from my house!

9. The company is "Adams Manufacturing"
I don't work for them, so I'm not pimping for my employer--just giving a shout-out to a US company, of course!

I believe that their stuff is sold through a whole bunch of name brands, including Martha Stewart, believe it or not. I'll see if I can find out some others.

I drive past one of the facilities every day, but until recently I didn't know what they made there. Then one morning I saw about a hundred stacks of chairs, each about ten feet tall. That's a lot of chairs!

10. Thank you Orrex.
I have been looking around but couldn't find any USA lawn furniture.

All I have found is some cheap looking stuff from China.

12. Well, I don't want to misrepresent them
Their furniture isn't exactly hand-carved oak; the standard chair is a one-piece plastic design. I own a pair of chairs and a table, and the chairs have served us well for several years.

I also don't want to spend a lot money either, but a decent amount.

15. Tidewater Workshop, made in U.S.A.
I bought my deck furniture years ago, gave it a good outdoor sealant/stain, and it's all still great. The bench needed a replacement for one of the sides because the drilled screw-holes were off, and they sent a replacement right away. Very good customer service.

They're having a sale, texanwitch :)

==================

For those looking for indoor furniture, after 15 years of waiting, I finally bought a curio cabinet by Pulaski, just a small 70" high, 13" wide. Pulaski is a great company. Made in the U.S.A. Most of their furniture is out of my price range, but it's so well built, it's worth saving for and waiting.

19. Unfortunately Pulaski just announced a plant closing
Last week they announced they are closing their last US manufacturing facility. That follows closely the announcement that Hooker Furniture has given up being a manufacturer and now only imports and distributes other brand names.

22. That really makes me sad, for all kinds of reasons.
Their furniture is so classic, so well-made, and it's reasonably priced even though due to my budget it seems expensive to me (but the curio was surprisingly low cost). A company like that deserves to be recognized.

I'm sad that Pulaski, Virginia, which has prided itself on the manufacturing of this fine furniture in their home town for so long, has finally been hit by the China Menace, which is how I think of the torrential influx of MDF with wood veneer products that are now so popular in the furniture market.

And I'm sad because Virginia is my home state, southwest Virginia in fact, and I hate to think of them taking an economic hit.

Thank you for sharing this article with me. I need to write Pulaski a letter and let them know how pleased I've been with the desk I bought from them 20 years ago, and how special the curio cabinet will be in the years to come.

What a damn shame. :(

8. I need to get a new washing machine and I TOTALLY want a Staber.
15 gallons per load - total with 1 to 2 ounces of detergent. MADE IN OHIO.

Anybotdy thinking of getting an overpriced front loader should check one of these babies out. They are wierd looking and seem too small but they are fantastic.

20. Mostly yeah
At least if there are any other manufacturing plants in the area. My fairly small city has a couple corrugated cardboard plants. Actually if you look at where a box is made it might give you a good idea where the product inside was made.

21. It's getting harder
If it's not made of steel, it's usually not made here.

Guns, cars, and knives are still made here an awful lot. And the stuff that I make...

Alira and Temptress faucets!
