1. I'm hosting a 50th bd/Oscar party tonite for a dear friend
the bd gal has decided she wants to have a "Gone With the Wind", southern-style potluck dinner: catfish, collards and greens, cornbread, crabcakes, jambalaya...etc...We're all dressing up. Should be fun. :D

thought you'd be amused. Yes, I've seen that movie more times than I care to remember.

:hi:

4. LOL! Why, thank you, darlin'!
 wait til you hear what I'm gonna wear:
it's a dark purple velvet, floor length, off the shoulder gown with a cool dangly fake pearl/diamond thingie that hangs in the cleavage. Ooooh la la!

My contribution for the party for 30 people, besides the venue, the decorations, and the dishware, are at least two huge pitchers of mojitos, which I absolutely LOVE! They're the Cuban version of the mint julep, so it's still keeping with the theme. :D

:hi:

5. I love Mojitos!
Funny you should mention Mint Juleps; that's exactly how I describe them to people who are unfamiliar with 'em. :)

PURPLE!!!

11. Neither have I; I stick to rum, hard cider, Baileys, and good wine.
The rest of the hard liquor family doesn't interest me, particularly whiskey or bourbon of any stripe.

8. Just read up on Vivien LEIGH. Too bad she suffered so much.
But if the pills available today had been at her disposal back then, perhaps she wouldn't have achieved as much. (Art is worth...)

9. What happened with Viven Leigh?
Did she suffer from depression?

She was bipolar long before the term came into use, and suffered from tuberculosis. It was the latter than eventually killed her.
