The TV ratings guide

The Content Labels
One or more letters may be added to the basic rating to indicate that a show contains higher levels of violence, sex, adult language or suggestive dialogue:

V - violence
S - sexual situations
L - coarse or crude indecent language
D - suggestive dialogue (usually means talk about sex)
FV - fantasy violence

What you need to know:

Anything below TV-PG is boring.

TV-PG is aimed at children.

TV-14 and above are claimed not to be made for children, but they seem to be the target audience.

Parents have to be told there is a difference between "Fantasy violence" and regular everyday "Violence", apparently.

Sex? On television? Really?? What a shock! :sarcasm:

Coarse language? Naaaaah, really? This is even more shocking than sex!!! :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

And shouldn't they have sub-levels for dialogue? "D" means "suggestive", but they ought to say "DS" for suggestive dialogue and "DE" for explicit dialogue. That way, when listening to "DS" dialogue, one can think what they want. "DE" means sex. Indeed, by doing this, "DS" will become as much antiquated as "Y" fairly quickly...
