Hot damn... Paid off my student loans today...
I'm not done with school yet... A couple more terms left until I graduate. But, it will be nice to finish up debt free.

Everybody else makes post about the silly little things that happen to them. I thought I would do the same.

:toast:

I was lucky. I got a lot of money from grants and I did work study the entire time.. It was hard, but I have some friends looking at 30K in loans.

5. Congratulations!
I paid off one of mine a year ago. (Still have more from a different school, but still).

It's such a good feeling, isn't it? And finishing debt-free--well that's a big deal, not a silly little thing! Here's to you :toast:

9. Thanks..
I took a few years off to start a small business. My friend can take over things while I finish up school. I doubt I will ever use my (soon to be) degree in my real life. I will use things I learned from it. I just won't ever work for a bank.

7. Yikes... Didn't you do a hard science? Biology?
Hopefully you can find a good job.

My total was only about 15K. I did go to a Community College for the first two years.. That saved a ton.

Yeah, hopefully my Bio and English degree should land me a decent job--but I want to teach in a few years...so I'm fucked

11. My roomie has a B.S. in Physics...
He did Teach For America. Apparently going through that program got him the certificate needed for him to do substitute teaching in Oregon.

Something to look into..

14. Congrats!
To get them paid off before graduation is excellent. Took me about 9 years after graduating from undergrad to get those loans paid.

That's not silly, it's a big deal. :toast:

Some of my friends' kids had lots of debt when they graduated. I was so glad I was able to keep mine from taking out student loans.
