The Sundays.....
what a nice, clever, clean sounding band from the early 90's...

It's a shame they never caught on...

I was lucky enough to see them live...

The one thing I noticed was that the lead singer, HArriet Wheeler, was a bit chunky, not fat, but she really filled out her jeans...

The snap on her jeans had popped, probably right before she went on stage and instead of melting down and freaking out, she just grabbed something and tied her jeans together with what looked like a twist-tie...

Could you imaging one of todays divas doing that...

I can't...

She just sang her heart out and that was what it was all about...

Psst... The only reason I noticed was because Mrs WCGreen and one of her friends pointed it out to me...

1. I love the Sundays. I have all their albums.
Just listening to them today in fact. They struck me as a feminine version of the Smiths.

The same type of song construction....

8. Well, the Smiths are one of my three favorite bands so I wouldn't call it
death shit but I know what you mean. The Sundays aren't as maudlin (sp?). Although that song with the lyric "I kicked a boy til he cried" could literally BE a Smiths song.

5. I absolutely love The Sundays. I had (have) a HUGE crush on
Harriet Wheeler.

Their first album, "Reading, Writing and Arithmetic" is still one of my favorites!!

14. That song is on my "Sing Along in the Car" playlist on my iPod! I love to belt out
the "two peas in the same pod yes we are! Or have I read too much fiction?"

Harriet Wheeler and I have a very similar vocal range (though of course her voice is much more beautiful) so I like to sing along to Sundays songs.
