Shania Twain, Pam Anderson, Leonard Cohen, The Guess Who, both Sutherlands (Donald and Keifer)... I'm sure I could think of many, many more. Hell, there's probably Web sites with copious lists of famous Canadians.

147. Here ya go Auntie...
Walter Gretzky had a son
He grew up to be the great one
He came from Brantford Ontario
He liked Gordie Howe you know
Americans don’t understand
The national sport of the north land
The world's fastest game they always dissin’
But they don’t know what they are missin’
If they’d just watch Wayne Gretzky play
Then they’d watch hockey everyday
Actually I like the Hawks
But boy oh boy Wayne Gretzky rocks

When I lived in Edmonton
He made us the City of Champions
With Jari and Semenko by his side
He filled our frigid city with pride
Then he moved out to L.A.
To help bring hockey to the U.S.A.
Everyone hated Peter and Janet
For trading the best player on the planet
They traded him and sure enough
He took the Kings to the Stanley Cup
Actually I like the Hawks
But boy oh boy Wayne Gretzky rocks

He came from Brantford Ontario
His rival’s name is Mario
Actually I like the Hawks
But boy oh boy Wayne Gretzky rocks

TPOH. One of my favorite songs of all time!

160. I never had before I looked up the lyrics to post quickly.
According to the Worms' own website, it IS a Pursuit of Happiness song. And I adore Moe Berg, so this makes me happy. I had no clue anyone covered it. I was trying to figure out who got original credit!

With apologies to my adorable husband, I have a thing for geeky Albertans. (for those of you who don't know him, reprehensor is also a geeky Albertan, but a very cute one)

despicable. Karla Homolka/Teale/Bernardo just gave birth to a child and is free to live her life. He's in jail for LIFE, a dangerous offender.

For those of us who lived close to the area where they committed these horrible crimes, the whole thing was an horrendous travesty of justice. (there was / is no justice)

113. (sorry to get too excited)
I've read so much about serial killers the last few years- 2 studies, 3 serial killer encyclopedia(s). I've looked over those web sites tons of times.. watched movies, researched, etc blah blah, pretty much wore the subject out.
And I hate violent criminals More Than Anything.
But I still joke too much about life/death, I need to be more careful with it.

159. Paul Gross, the Mountie in "Due South"
Now to be seen on Sundance TV in "Slings & Arrows."

"Due South" introduced me to Things Canadian. The show also featured Leslie Nielsen in several episodes. Martha Burns (Paul's wife) showed up--& she's his co-star in "Slings & Arrows." Paul Haggis helped create the series & has continued a successful writing career.

Callum Keith Rennie (the Second Detective Vecchio in "Due South") is also in "Twitch City"--Don McKellar's weird comedy finally out on DVD. The dog who played Dief even shows up! And two of the Kids in the Hall play the same role--which is explained by a head transplant.
www.amazon.com/Twitch-City-Complete-Bruce-McCulloch/dp/B000H5VACA/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-6060729-8091140?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1172854306&sr=8-1

Of course, Don McKellar is also in "Slings & Arrows." He & Callum Rennie appeared in "Existenz"--in which Canadian director David Cronenburg pushed the boundaries of "weird."

Let's not forget "Hard Core Logo"--starring Rennie & Hugh Dillon (as Joe Dick)--who had a cameo in both "Twitch City." Molly Parker appeared in "Hard Core Logo" & "Twitch City". You may remember her from "Deadwood."

Just a bit incestuous. That's OK, as long as you keep it in the family.
