ORLANDO, Fla. -- A campaign worker for a city commissioner is charged with dealing drugs while trying to convince customers to vote.
Faye Jackson was working for Sam Ings. He was a candidate in the special election for District 6 before winning the seat two weeks ago. Ings said he fired the campaign worker on the spot when police caught her selling marijuana at the same time as she was handing out absentee ballot requests.
Jackson was out on bond, Tuesday, and told Eyewitness News she's never had anything to do with Ings.
When Eyewitness News tracked Jackson down Tuesday, she was wearing a yellow shirt bearing the name Lawanna Gelzer. She's the candidate defeated by Ings in the special election earlier this month. Jackson was wearing Gelzer's shirt because Ings says he fired her.
"After I found out this information, Faye no longer worked for the Ings campaign," Ings said.
