Blowing dust and windy.
Edited on Wed Feb-28-07 04:14 PM by texas1928
74 degrees.

It is not blowing dust. It is blowing dirt. We are starting to get dirt drifts at the back of the building. Lubbock should advertise, Come to Lubbock, our air gives 11 essential minerals. And the Bag trees are getting into full bloom here as well. I just love this time of year in West Texas. We had mud snow this last Saturday.

1. Hey! We got your dust here last Saturday.
I still have the fine, reddish, powdery stuff on my outdoor furniture. They said it blew in from Lubbock (cotton fields). I'm in the DFW area, btw.

3. Yeah my parents got some of our dirt in Central Texas as well.
It was not all our dirt though, some of it was from New Mexico. I thought I saw pieces of South Texas earlier fly by, so people in Oklahoma and Kansas are going to get this stuff.

5. It is normal for this area.

This time of year the Panhandle of Texas does not get much moisture in the air, yet we get strong cold fronts coming through. So instead of storms like further down into Texas, we get blowing dirt. Farmers are starting to plow to get their fields ready, so the high winds have a ready amount of loose soil to play with.
