Watched "Jarhead" this weekend - what did you think?
It was unlike any war movie I've ever seen. Jake Gyllenhaal was excellent, as was everyone else. I liked how they kept shifting from the movie representation of war vs. the reality of war.
On the other hand - I really don't get what this movie was trying to say.
5. I don't think the movie was trying to say anything...
just to show the mundane day-to-day lives of soldiers, more than anything else. The book did an even better job of showing how, unlike in the movies, most of a soldier's life during wartime is actually tremendously dull.
