MatcomNews Breaking Story: EMS workers investigated for viewing porn on duty

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services officials are investigating about a dozen paramedics, including two commanders, for visiting pornographic Web sites on city computers while on duty.

Officials said Monday that they spent the weekend reviewing Internet logs to see what Web sites paramedics visited, how often and how long they stayed on the sites each time, and that they expect disciplinary hearings to begin this week.

They said that some of the paramedics likely will be fired, be demoted or receive lengthy suspensions.

"This is a very unusual, embarrassing situation, and we are going to deal with it," Assistant City Manager Mike McDonald said. "We don't expect this type of behavior from any of our employees."

Some of the paramedics appeared to have spent hours at a time viewing a mix of hard- and soft-core pornographic materials on computers throughout the system's 30 stations, McDonald and EMS director Richard Herrington said.

However, none of the employees accessed illegal sites, including those offering child pornography, they said.

1. Funny you should mention this.

At the fire house a couple nights ago, the women's bathroom was locked and I couldn't find the key, so I went to the men's bathroom. Well, prisoners who work at city hall (washing police cars and such) have been sneaking down to our men's bathroom for the past week or so...

On the back of the toilet were some porn mags with one of the prisoners names on the address label...you'd have thought he'd be smart enough to tear the label off.

I walked them over to city hall and left them on the police chief's desk. :D

Now we're going to have to take Superclean and the pressurewasher to the bathroom.

Ugh.

I don't know if you remember, but I posted a thread last year about the last time we pressurewashed the bathrooms there. The bathrooms have outside entrances, and we weren't aware that people were using them when no one was at the station.

Well, let's just say that some people use their hands and the walls for what toilet paper was meant for.

11. I've noticed the same thing about UPS van drivers

So many of them are completely buff. I actually worked in a UPS station once and it about killed me just one night of it, and I wasn't even working on the trucks where the really heavy stuff is. I was working on the mail part where the smaller boxes come down the chute onto the conveyer belt. I pulled both of my side abdominal muscles and could barely stand up the next day. My hat is off to them.

15. I'll tell ya a goody...

I had a friend who was a Texas State Trooper. He worked up in the panhandle,he came to Austin to work on Bush's detail back when he was gubnah'... :eyes: I know... anyway..

He would tell me these stories of pulling ladies over and getting flashed, Ta ta's, crotches...etc.. to try and get out of tickets.

Anyway, he was patrolling out in them thar' hills one night and pulled over a sports car for speeding,. he goes up and immediately the driver... presumable female flashes her boobs. He laughs and asks for license and registration and she gets out of the car and pulls her penis out and starts doing a lil' jig on the side of the road. All while the mounted CAMERA is recording all of this. She is even singing a song! I don't remember quite what the song was, but I remember CRACKING up at the story!

He said the guys at the sub station all had a good laugh out of it! :rofl:
