I can't find a straight answer to this anywhere! Argh! The two windows on the driver's side stopped working - they don't make any sound at all, so I assume it's the motor.

Anyone else had this problem. Is it an expensive problem???

I miss the old roll-up windows!!!

1. I had this problem last summer
My drivers window would not go down -- the passenger window would not go up. I think it ended up being about $250 for a new motor.

3. Could it be a fuse?
Since they have separate motors (don't they???) they should not both go out at once. Check the fuse box.

6. Checking the fuse sounds like good advice. If it is the motor, you might consider
getting a replacement at a junk yard. I had the same problem with a 1978 Lebaron a long time ago. It was a bad design and I ended up buying every used window motor in the state of Florida. I finally ended up propping up the windows and using the A/C.

7. can u control all 4 windows from the drivers side?
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 09:42 PM by tenaciousradical
if you can and the rest of them are working fine, then more than likely, it's just the control switch is wore out. The drivers side switch gets lots of use and the switches wear out...

Chevy's are notorious for that....
