The Flaming Lips appreciation thread...

These guys are my hometown boys, so I've been tuned into their stuff since about '86 or so, but since they finally seem to be getting that national attention that they've deserved for so long, I thought I'd start this thread to see who all here are digging them.

Is one of my favorites....I also liked "Transmissions..." Clouds Taste Metallic is good too. I like the Soft Bulletin, but it's not really one I put on too much.

Although I'll admit to only being into everything from Transmission on to Yoshimi. Haven't gotten around to exploring their earlier stuff. Wasn't really into that scene when they were doing the earlier psychedelic stuff, although I always saw their name bandied about in the late 80's/early 90's.

Yup. I like them too. Yoshimi...more accessible than The Soft Bulletin, not necessarily better.

6. Hit to Death fan here

and just caught one of their songs on this internet enabled college station I love WMSE.org . They were just interviewing one of the 70's Show actors, Danny something, who had the band play one of his birthday partys recently in LA.

Flaming Lips are a great live band I must say, loud but great.

on edit: it was Danny Masterson picking his fav songs the last hour, including some choice Frank Black.
