14. Well, if he feels like he acts
he's more than fine. He's a crazy kitten. The vet just wanted to re-check the lump. Thanks for the vibes.

I actually had to go get a pet taxi. Last time we went to the vet ZI was holding the cat and he literally had the shit scared out of him all over ZI's coat. Good thing it was machine washable. Ewww.

16. Ginger is the King of Switzerland,
or so he tells me. A year or so ago, I got a beautiful new red leather chair, positioned it in a company spot next to the French doors, and went into the kitchen to get a cup of tea. When I returned with my tea, the "chair" had become a "throne." x(

I was fostering him for awhile and he ended up being my cat. I still talk to his original owner and she says the craziest thing was how big his paws and head was when he was born. I see the bobcat in him with his tail, his big head, his big paws, and his growl. But he loves other kitties, esp. kittens!!

79. Heh. My mother has a 17 year old cat named Miss Kitty. Indestructable.
Very active cat. She literally stayed outside during Hurricne Katrina. My parents thought she was in her favorite spot in the office, but when the winds died down, after eight hours, they heard her whining at the door. When they let her in she ran straight to her favorite spot and wouldn't talk to them for several days. But now she's back to being her normal active self.

36. They are silly animals.
When we adopted Bea, she had been abandoned by her mother. Lucinda had never had a litter of puppies but she developed maternal instincts for little Bea. She let the kitten nurse on her, and as a result of the nipple stimulation, began to lactate. She NURSED the kitten.

Here's a photo of her nursing Bea. Yes, that's a tie-dyed tee-shirt that she's wearing. :D

Good to see you, too!

I'm jealous of your lush, green world. We have been in a perpetual cold spell -- much more winter than spring. All spring greening and growth has gone into suspended animation, and now some mega storm is on its way with a possibility of a foot of wet snow. That will undoubtedly knock the daffodils and tulips (that haven't even bloomed yet) to the ground for good.

Call Me Wesley's shot of Ginger should be entered in a photo contest.

60. We had a cold snap here, too, about three weeks ago,
and it came pretty close to killing the camelias and magnolias at the height of bloom. The blooming of the magnolias and camelias in our part of the country usually marks the start of the tourist season, so I was really glad (for the sake of the local businesses that depend on the tourist trade) that the flowers squeaked through.

Sending you sunshine vibes. A foot of wet snow does _not_ sound nice.

I surf way too much at work and that's bad. So I will mostly be posting only on the weekends now.

even "herding" the dogs, but he runs away from the baby, lol...he really doesn't like kids. At least he leaves though, instead of hissing and scratching. He's 17 lbs and can do some damage. An old fart at 13.

74. Oooh, vintage Siamese!
I love the old-style Siamese cats like this, who still look soft and rounded, as opposed to the harsh angular look that the breed has taken on in recent years. Granted I like that look in other breeds, but to me a Siamese should look like yours. Beautiful! :)

76. Hi, InvisibleTouch!
(I love your username.)

Ginger isn't really Siamese. We have no idea how he ended up looking like an applehead Siamese; his mom is a grey kitty that my mother-in-law adopted from a farm near Indemini, and his father was a stray black and white tuxedo cat. Here's Ginger's goofy brother, Barley, who lives across the street with my sister-in-law's family. :hi:

114. She was so timid when I first brought her home - the laser pointer
was like a magical tool that totally shed all her inhibitions! She warmed up to me almost instantly, and almost demands more than one session every day, and usually several on the weekends! It shouldn't be hard to find a cheap one, I would imagine...it would be worth every penny!

Fortunately, Ginger doesn't claw the furniture, but his ever-present brother, Barley, does. We've just resigned ourselves to the fact that we'll have to buy new dining room chairs every three or four years.

The views are beautiful, joby, and it's wonderful to see you.

84. Imhotep and Caesar accidentally sharing the ottoman

Of course, as soon as Caesar noticed there was someone else on HIS ottoman, he was gone.

On the subject of Siamese and siamese-looking cats, the first time Immie met his vet, he greeted her with that big warbly voice of his, and she hugged him and said "Oooooh! Black Siamese kitty!!" He has the voice, the body type and the double-curve claws. It's kinda cool.

I've missed seeing you and the crew! Beautiful kitties, as always.

I totally understand about vets' reactions to our babies. CMW and I were just talking about Dr. Dürr's reaction to Ginger on their first meeting, when he had to take Ginger's history, breed, etc. for the vaccination record. For six years, I've thought Ginger's vaccination record identified him as "house cat." CMW informed me today that Dr. Dürr has crappy handwriting. The record says "blue point." (Don't tell Ginger that his doctor thinks he's Siamese, though. I don't think we can afford to have him puttin' on airs. :spray: )

88. All three of mine
Midnight and Oreo are on the bed. They're sisters that we adopted from a rescue society at Petsmart, and they're closing in on five years old.

Nova is on the box looking back at them. I brought her home from my mother's - a feral cat there had a litter. She's getting close to two years old, even though she looks a lot younger. She's healthy and active and eats plenty of food; she's just naturally a little cat. Her mother was little.

This is Nicki, the eldest. We all bask in her infinite wisdom.

This is Cleo, the middle child. She's dumb and paranoid, but sweeter than heck, too.

This is Amber, the youngest. She's a tiny thing, still acts like a kitten, and drives the other two crazy at times.

This isn't my cat at all. I think that's a probably good thing.
