Poll question: Tax TIME!
Who's done?

Who's waiting till the last minute?

I ask because my step-pappy is a tax man and they are getting swamped right now.

I can't understand why people wait until the last minute. You don't have to mail them until Tuesday. Even some of their last minute clients are getting big refunds. I'm normally their first one they file.

So, what's the status?

2. it's been a busy year
for me, so I finally got round to doing mine last night. I usually get a refund, but this year I have to pay. I'll probably get it in the mail Monday.

:hi:

3. I get mine e-filed.
My pappy started doing e-files a few years back. It's great. They'll file them and within a week the money is in my checking account.

4. I usually do
but since I have to pay, I will snail mail with a check. I don't really like doing financial transactions across the ethers. Although I guess that's kind of schizophrenic, since I have had refunds direct-deposited.

8. That sucks.
One good thing about being in the middle income range ..... I've always claimed "0" dependents, so get money back every year. It's weird however, the state (California) goes back and forth. I've never had to pay taxes, but my refund has been from $10 to $300 over the years. :wtf:

9. Yes, it does.
I have to pay every year but not as much as this year. I'm doing things differently next year for sure.

11. Mailed them a day after I received completed forms from the accountant...
and I already have the state refund.

Between inheriting and selling half a house and buying this place, my tax status has changed significantly. For the first time in my life, I am getting a four-digit refund. I can hardly believe my luck.

Part will be spent on repainting my egg-yolk yellow bedroom and hallway (shudder), which is badly needed. Now to find a good painter in this neck of the woods.

13. Other: Done and just plain got a big ass.
Actually, we received a refund from the feds in February; we have to pay in to the state and so I won't be mailing that until Tuesday.
