Who Do You Think Gets Offended More Easily -- Dems or Pubs?
Over the last couple of days, I've noticed Dems offended about fast food commercials, offended over people calling Dennis Kucinich "unelectable", offended over truck commercials, offended by male stereotypes on television, etc.

Meanwhile, recently there have been Pubs offended about comparisons between Bush and Hitler, offended by violent video games, offended by the amount of shows "glorifying" homosexuality (a la Will & Grace, Queer Eye, etc.).

So, which political party do you think gets more easily offended?

Bonus question... What is something that has offended you in the last week?

1. Interesting... But A More Revealing Question Would Be...
"Who Do You Think Gets JUSTIFIABLY Offended More Easily -- Dems or Pubs?"

And the answer to that question is clearly "WE". We do! Our outrage is absolutely justified. Theirs is petty and bigoted.

3. "JUSTIFIABLY"

If you didn't think you're justified, you'd never get offended. If you easily think you're justified in being offended, you'll get offended more...sometimes for no reason.

7. Not necessarily so...
I'm convinced that many folks feign being offended simply to help make their point... or to "score-points" with onlookers.

Even though it could rarely be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, one can often instinctually know who's faking-it, and who is truly justified in being offended.

Now... quit nit-picking my words. You know exactly what I was driving at and you seem to derive some joy in trying to belittle others with unnecessary hyper-analysis of some hidden agenda. I AM OFFENDED!! How DARE YOU be so THOUGHTLESS??? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!! THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE!!!

8. my point is
that everyone who gets offended thinks they have a right to be offended. Whether it's Falwell, some lesbian, some christian weirdo or anyone. Soem think they're justified to get offended becuase of X, freepers think they're justified because of Y. Who will be the judge? That was my point.

And, yes DU is full of people trying to score points, by cut and pasting talking points. I just ignore them...If I had a dollar for everytime i've called a faggot by gay people I could buy a nice dinner. I answered with jokes and stereotypes. Did I /they get offended? Nope, because we're friends and people in real life (out of DU) know when someone is joking or when he really means it. Ever heard a black and a white guy joke in real life? You'd think one is a skinhead and the other is Louis Farrakhan, yet they're just friends busting each other chops.

People need to chill out..for health and credibilty reasons. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=deep+breathing+techniques

5. Depends on the subject really.
There are thin skins all over the place, regardless of political ideology. Although I'll have to admit that when you have to post asking if you *should* be offended by something, you're really going out of your way just to work yourself up into a good bitch session.

I really can't remember the last time I was actually offended by something. I tend to laugh things off as examples of idiocy rather than let stupid shit get to me.

9. Of course not!
At DU, I'm all about fluffy bunnies and skipping around the maypole.
(even when I'd rather sometimes give the bunny a whack with a fungo bat)

10. Your alluding to violence against animals offends me
And I don't know who your candidate is, but I'm not voting for him or her if you represent the kind of anti-animal agenda that they will take.

13. Repukes, definitely.
After eight years of savaging the best President since Harry Truman, they now go into a Sonny Corleone door-banging froth if you say what a fuck-up His Chimperial Majesty is.

"How DARE you talk MEAN 'bout th'Prezdint!"

They can dish it out, but they sure can't take it. Fuck-holes.
