65. I believe you! In fact I think you once said
something about marrying Jeff Lynne... which would make you Lynne Lynne!

Yes is also on my list of favorites. In fact I spend plenty of time at yesfans.com (and even debate in their political forum).

Zep was a phase for me. I still like them, but I don't listen to them every day, like I used to. I do think that their first album was nothing short of blues genius.

9. strangely, there are plenty of folks who hate the Beatles
the thing I like about music is how it is subjective, yet manages to be an art form which can reach anyone in some way. But as for the subjectiveness, I think every band ever has at least one person who loves them and one person who hates them.

66. I disagree, but that is the nature of any subjective art
I like their earlier stuff up to the middle era, the more Mod dance rock music and the early stoner stuff like Revolver and Rubber Soul. They have some great songs and while I can see how someone doesn't like them (or any band), I don't understand or agree that they were not good. But again, to each their own.

I can understand thinking the later stuff was over-produced and over-hyped. I don't totally dislike it, but can understand the argument I suppose.

I also try to look at the context - like you said, they inspired so many people simply because they were breaking a lot of ground, not necessarily that they were inventing a new style, but more that they were putting things together in a new way and inventing a new type of band.

I understood their critics after seeing them in concert. I loved their albums, but when I went to their concert I was surprised to hear exactly the same music. It were as if they were lipsynching to their albums. Talented, very talented, but it seemed to lack soul.

I thought Isaac Brock's voice was annoying. But they slowly grew on me. I realized I liked them one day when I was doing the dishes one day and belting out "I backed my car into a COP car! The other! Day! Well-he-just-drove-off-sometimes-life's-a-cake! I ran my mouth off a BIT! too much oh what did I say! Well you just laughed it off it was all okay!" I love them now. I only have GNFPWLBN, but it's awesome. I like "Satin In a Coffin" the best.

I definitely dig their albums — especially the first two and the most recent two (Long Drive..., Lonesome Crowded West, Good News..., and We Were Dead...) — but they were terrible at the Bang Music Festival. They played on the mainstage right before the final band, Duran Duran. All in all, I was kicking myself that I hadn't stayed at the electronica stage and caught Daft Punk's whole set. Now that ROCKED!!

I own none of their albums, CDs or tapes, and will not listen to most of their songs on the radio. If the DJ starts them up, I will shut the radio off. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. (except "You can't always get what you want" that ones kinda cool.) I even mute the TV when Mick sings for ten seconds on a Chase Visa commercial. If I could clap my hands (or get a genie to do it) and make all of their recordings vanish, I would gladly do it.
Did I mention that I fu$%ing hate them?
