I have fought with the Vegan Beagle, to keep her from digging in the yard, for five years. I'm prolly fighting millions or at least thousands of years of evolution. So, I concede. I've let her dig a hole. And it's a beaut!! Really deep. When she goes out, before peeing or anything, the first thing she does is touch up the hole a bit. Then she relieves herself far from the hole. And then she just sits by the hole. Right beside it, looking as proud as you please. This hole seems mighty important to her.

So, I'm glad I could make her happy. Now I just have to explain it to the people who acutally own the yard.

1. Maybe you should go refill the hole each time she digs?
 That'll mess with her little beagle head!

2. awwwwww ...
Raycharles approves O8) but is concerned with her being a Vegan Beagle.
She's missed out on all the joys of dumpster digging and random neighborhood bone scavenging!

:hi:

6. I've decided to just let her dig!
I don't think it's to escape, because it's not near the fence. She just likes to dig. I have told, though, that if she makes it to China, she's not to bring ANYTHING home with her!! We have enough Chinese crap as it is!!

5. Hey, if she only digs one hole, she's easy to please.
Tell the people who own the yard that it's an excavation for a swimming pool. A really small swimming pool.

7. She has no bone to bury.
And it's obvious that it's confusing the hell out of her.

10. She has bones. They're just made of cornstarch instead of
dead animals. And she collects them in the back of her crate. Has a little "bone nest" back there.

11. I hope my bones aren't made of cornstarch.
Then again, I could grind them up and use them as sauce thickener if they were.

12. I have digging yorkies.
They're like secret agents, digging when they think no one is watching. They bury random things and then cover the holes.

Once, my dogs buried ice cubes we put in their outside water bowls. Geniuses.
