Edited on Sat Jun-09-07 06:09 PM by a kennedy
First time in 102 years!!! Wooohooo  :toast: :woohoo: :applause: Yup, and what a filly too. She stared down the muscle guy Curlin in a neck and neck race......just outstanding. Just a gorgeous horse. Just beautiful...... this is so exciting, and tonight ABC is showing the movie Ruffian..... movie about another fantastic filly horse.....but had to be put down and is buried at the Belmont race track in New York. AND SO SORRY THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED. Sorry... Edit to correct Ruffian's spelling.

1. I remember watching the match race between Ruffian and
Foolish Pleasure. What a tragedy. I didn't see the Ruffian movie tonight though... How was it?

I did see Rags to Riches beat all the boys today though. What a race she ran! :woohoo:

Sometimes I think that horseracing is so bad, but I can't bring myself to stop watching it.

2. I watched that movie tonight
I thought it was good, though I was too young at the time Ruffian was racing.

I cried at the end though.

5. The movie was sad and short, at least I thought it was short.
It seemed that Ruffian had a short life. Her trainer didn't want to put her up in the Match Race, according to the movie. He was right it seems. From what the movie hinted at, she was spooked by the pigeons, but none of the trainers and handlers thought the same thing. Anyhow, the movie was pretty good until the bone crunching part. I wondered why they put a warning up that it depicted intense horse racing scenes. Nothing was violent at all until the part where she broke her leg, then the part where she broke her other leg after surgery. It was gut wrenching at the end there. I should have known better than to watch an animal true story. They always end in death, sadly.
