5. In my job, the FAFSA is the last word in financial aid eligibility.
From that, you get the EFC, which is used in conjunction with the COA to determine financial need. Our office also requires a FADS for new students. DTLs are run and mailed daily to pick up any missing documents needed for processing. Our national professional association is NASFAA.

:rofl: How's that for a profession with way too many acronyms? :P There are many more, but this is just a sample.
