3. Any One Of The DOZENS Of Laura Bush Undesigner Frocks...
the ones that look like they could also be TABLECLOTHS or UPHOLSTERY or DRAPERY. Anything with a big poofy bodice or a BIG BOW. Especially the big bows that ought to be worn in the back but are worn in the front.

4. Hey, I like the third one
but not for summer wear.

My vote goes for baggy swimming suits. How the hell are you supposed to swim in those? They will pry my Speedos from my cold dead hips.

7. Lol...Remember the misshaped-shoulder-pads look?
I think it was a Japanese designer who would stick a huge wad of pillow stuffing in ONE shoulder of a gown, so the model looked deformed.

6. I brought up the sequel to Ginger Snaps
to the sound of crickets chirping in a faraway meadow. So I guess Canadian horror movies using menstuation as a metaphor for lycanthropy should not be referenced in threads.

Oh, and Danny Pintauro, the clearly gay kid from "Who's the Boss?" Let him live his life, dammit!

8. At the risk of killing this thread.... Leisure Suits....and I am NOT
going to post a picture. If you don't know what they look like... consider yourself lucky. Very lucky.

10. And puka beads. And the suit has contrasting stitching.
You know you're living on the edge man, with the contrasting stitching. And, to be really hip, wear your polyester island-print shirt collar outside the jacket collar. With the contrasting stitching, of course.

12. You better not be dissin' Bjork!
She's got more talent and style than any other celebrity who attended the Oscars that night. By most accounts (mine included) she should have been nominated for best actress that night (for Dancer in the Dark).

I adored the swan dress, particularly since the swan was later used in her most brilliant album Vespertine. Did you notice how almost nobody mentioned that she brought down the house with her rendition of "I've Seen it All" from Dancer in the Dark? I guess making fun of her swan dress is so much more important. :eyes:

16. Ban-Lon®
The worst use of spun polyester ever conceived.

It was used in the late 1960s and early 1970s to make clothing that felt wet, sticky, scratchy, and cold, all at the same time.

to create the 70s Retro look?

I loathed that stuff!

18. Does anybody remember paper clothing?
I remember it from when I was younger, in the sixties, I think. I can remember miniskirts made of paper; I forget what else. I think I had a hat made out of paper.
