1. Not spam, but my 800# is apparently extremely similar to
GMAC's in North Carolina and I get faxes from insurance companies all the frickin' time.

Chews up paper/ink/my time. Drives me crazy. If I'm at my desk, I interrupt the fax, but I can't always do that.

2. we used to get spam faxes
but now we have our phone fax machine on manual, so anyone wanting to send a fax has to make sure we are here to receive it. If we don't press the recieve fax button, we don't get anything. Saves a LOT of paper.

3. We get spam faxes at work all the time.
 We've blocked some of the numbers used to dial them, but of course they change constantly. Hell, I got spam faxes on the fax line I had in my home office when I worked remotely for a bank last year---I have no earthly idea how they got it because getting faxes was rare on that line anyway. I didn't use the fax number on any internet forms or anything---it was printed on my business cards which I only gave to legitimate business clients. I averaged three spam faxes a week and maybe one fax a week for legitimate purposes. :(
