Newton lost control of his Cadillac while leaving the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood and crashed into a wall across the street...

Isn't that where Joplin and Belushi died? That place is cursed, man.

I actually have a Helmut story.


My ex SO and I used to stay at the Chateau Marmont while he was working in LA. It's a very homey style hotel, not like most, but a definite Bohemian feel to the place. (I guess that would make it Behomian.)

I would rinse my silkies out and let them hang dry. After a few weeks I noticed I really didn't have many left. I suspected that one of the service people was snatching them.

I went down to the desk and told the manager what I was missing from my room, and without even contemplating he said "Well, you do know that Helmut Newton is staying here?"

Heh. Chateau was a GREAT place to hang out.
