Ever call your partner by the name of someone else?
Another thread made me think of this. My husband and I were both married to others for over a decade before we were together. Sometimes (especially during a "discussion"), we'll inadvertently call each other the name of our ex. Never at one of those moments, but we still feel bad.

but we've been together 17 years. If I did, I would be in big trouble. ;)

2. No, I avoid addressing by real name for that reason.
And choose to always go with a nickname.

3. I'm still married, so I guess the answer to that would be no...
...I did do that to a girlfriend once. Suffice it to say she was extremely non-plussed about it. I didn't know they were sorority sisters.

5. "Babe", "Sweetie", "Honey"
I think in the 6 years we've been together, I've called him by his name about 3 times, each one a shock to him. It's not purposely to avoid that but it helps. :hi:

10. I think that's why those endearments are handy.
Cuts down on the hurt feelings.

Thanks to the wild creativity of white bread suburbanites of the early 70's, :eyes: my last two bfs have the same first name.
