I do think the 70's was a great decade for films.
I was re-watching "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" and "Dod Day Afternoon" today.

And that's just two great films from the 70's.

What a decade for film lovers.

3. My favorite part about 70s cinema is the film quality.
I don't know what it is, but it makes the films feel more real.

There is a dark/dingy quality that also makes the viewer feel down in the trenches of life.

7. I remember seeing Catch 22 in Luxembourg with my cousin....

Given the nature of the country, it was shown in English with French and German subtitles.

Marianne and I -- and the audience in general -- laughed our asses off at that one.

It was 1971.

On edit: And Marianne understood the move in English. Their foreign language skills are so far ahead of ours.

9. Some more...
Harold and Maude (1970)
Five Easy Pieces (1970)
The Andromeda Strain (1971)
What's Up, Doc? (1972)
Brother Sun, Sister Moon (1972)
Chinatown (1974)
The Stunt Man (1978)
Life of Brian (1979)

"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" came out in 1969. The 1960s is my favorite decade. Tons of great movies.
