How do you define what actually is tart?
'Tart' is usually defined as something sour-tasting.

The media is tart.

Pop tarts are tart.

That candy is tart.

---------------------------------------

Of course, 'tart' is also British euphemism for 'hooker', or promiscuous, or generally lacking any values or decency.

That lady is a tart.

Britney Spears is a tart.

Pop tarts have no nutritional value.

---------------------------------------

Of course, some could say "Britney Spears tastes rather tart" but you can rest assured; I'm not one of them.

2. to me, tart is something normally sour but with a hint of sweetness
like apples..some are really sweet, some are sort of sweet and some will make your jaw clench. The jaw clenchers are sour, the barely sweet ones are tart.

Not to be confused with whangy which is more like buttermilk, yogurt, some cheeses.
