1. Omg

...that happened to me about 4 years ago.

The ladder broke when I was coming down and my leg got caught between the rungs, very painful.

I hope your sister is okay and home soon.

2. Ladders are so dangerous.
She'll be o.k., but it will be tough for a while. Sending good hopes to you, your sister, and your family

4. She has an incredibly fragile back.
Several different flavors of arthritis have her in great pain on a daily basis. Something like this could easily cripple her.

Everyone in our family fears something like this- we ALL have arthritis.

10. ladders truly can mess one up
and a wet ladder is a double recipe for danger

In May of '06 my sister fell off of a ladder and broke both of the bones in her leg in half, and her ankle was smashed into so many pieces that they almost amputated.

Then, an undiagnosed bone infection caused failure to heal once everything was set.

Long story short--she didn't walk for a year, and nearly lost her foot.

She is walking w/ a cane now. She had one tough year.

I sure hope your sister has an easier time of it than this.

12. UPDATE: She broke her elbow.
That has GOT to be THE most agonizing bone break there is. Other than that, she's more or less okay (a bit beat up from the fall, but she'll recover).
