Has anyone bought one of the new Ipod Nano's

I am thinking about buying one but was wondering what people think of them so far. Is the video screen really any good for watching videos or is it too small to be useful for that.

Just wondering.

P.S. If I get one, it will be the Product Red version.

2. If you get an ipod ...

make sure you buy the Apple Care plan ... I hate ipods at this point.Seriously ... I think they are programmed to stop working after 12 months.

3. We've had a third generation one for nearly 4 years

No problems at all.

but I use it primarily in the car with a Griffin iTrip charger/transmitter.

I have the Product Red version

and I love it. I wouldn't watch videos on it, though. Hopefully, when Call Me Wesley gets his Touch video iPod, I will inherit his old video iPod. :)

6. The Touch ipod looks really cool

but for what a touch costs I could get a regular video ipod with more storage then the touch. But I really like the way the new nano's look and I have been wanting to replace my old I-pod that my ex bought me.

CMW watches videos on his video iPod, but neither of us really needs the iPod products that we've bought, and we certainly don't need the Touch iPod. But _one_ of us (won't mention who, but I'm married to him ;) ) is sort of an electronics freak and the Touch iPod is on his Christmas list.

But yeah, I like the look of ours better because they're so tiny. The new ones are kinda cool, though and I'll probably end up getting one, though I really don't need one ... I only have a 1st gen iPod, a Mini, a 1st gen Shuffle, a 2nd gen Shuffle, a 3rd gen Nano and an iPhone ... and they all work!

8. My wife has the Product Red version as well. I have to say that I'm quite impressed with the new

Nano. The video screen is very good, supposedly it's the highest resolution that they have on any mac computer monitor or ipod. I convert DVD video to it and she watches them on the nano during her lunch breaks. Even though the screen is small, I'd say it's highly watchable.

If you have a TJMaxx nearby, check them out for the nano. I've heard that TJMaxx has them on sale for 50 dollars cheaper than anywhere else, so the new Nano is 150 dollars instead of the normal 200 if you can find one.

Believe it or not, as an employee of the McDonald's coorperation, I work for one of the 10% of McDonalds locations that is actually owned by the coorporation, I get some special card that gets me some pretty nice discounts at places that are actually useful and Apple is one of them.

17. Why yes. Yes I did.

I bought one this past Saturday, using my $100 iPhone credit in part to pay for it. This is my first 'screen' iPod; I own a Shuffle.

The screen is small and while one can watch videos and such on it, I wouldn't use it if your detail oriented, cuz it is small.

One feature it does, which I like, is if you included cover art, when you are on the main screen, the left half has the initial menu items and the right side randomly shows close-ups of the covers. It slowly pans in a random direction for a couple seconds, then changes the picture.

23. I have the 80G video iPod. But the screen looks to be about the same size.

I didn't really buy it to watch videos, but for a recent long flight I decided to download a few shows to keep me occupied. Both my husband and I were very impressed with how easy it was to watch the shows. Very crisp detail for such a small image. We're going to Europe next week so I've downloaded several more shows to watch on the plane.
