I've been feeling like a traitor so I'm going to make a confession
and then run away to bake something.

I'm dating the republican again, even after all the good advice you people gave me, and the reason I'm telling you is because I feel like a liar if I don't. Tell you, that is. I won't complain about him any more because it isn't fair to him and it isn't quite fair to my friends here who comfort me and support me.

Okay, I'm going to make cookies now. Hugs, fellow DUers. :grouphug:

1. Well, you're the only one who can decide what path you want to be on.
I'm not on your path, so I'm not going to judge.

I hope he gives you what you need and want.

2. I agree with Miss Millie: it's your life and only you can decide.
But crim son, isn't this the guy who manhandled and humiliated you? Please, please, please: take care of yourself.

15. That's true, but (and this isn't anybody's fault but mine)
I always feel awful because I make him sound like a demon and he's nothing like that. He has an anger situation, no doubt, but he's the first one to admit it and he works very hard on it. And I'm kinda freaky, seriously. I'd drive anybody nuts and I'm not being either melodramatic or insecure. :)

11. I know it; that's why I feel badly about being quiet.
I'm fully aware how stupid it is to assume anybody gives a shit, BTW. But I tend to think about my DU friends and do care about what's going on with them. Hi, James. :hi:

16. No reason to feel like a traitor, but...
he has already shown you what he's like. That won't get any better, and the further you get into a relationship and the more comfortable he feels, much more bad behavior is likely to emerge.

Everyone understands it's your decision, and good luck, but make sure you value yourself in this relationship.

18. Thank you.
The thing is, he is better, much, much better than he was when we first met in March and I've seen enough change to be willing to believe he is capable of permanently altering his behavior. He isn't in denial; he doesn't blame me for his outbursts and he analyzes the crap out of them afterward, looking for triggers and discussing with me how he can handle them. In many ways he is the most intelligent and sensitive man I've ever encountered. I understand your point though, really I do. If I believed he is a violent person I'd be gone. I just don't believe it and what we have when we are happy together it's like a dream. We'll see. I mean, I'll see. :)
