home sick today. bleh. I hate being sick, even though I am
happy to not be going to work. Wish I felt good enough to putter around my house a little. Maybe this afternoon.

Bad Cold...or possibly just fallout from an allergy storm....sore throat for 5 days followed by seize up in the chest, yuck.

Oh well, chicken soup, hot tea, and being able to nap whenever I want should help.

And a good healthy dose of DU and NPR isn't bad either

1. That makes two of us!
My youngest was diagnosed with pink-eye last thursday, and I think I caught the virus responsible for it from him.. my eyes are fine, but I feel like I have a nasty, nasty flu.. my plans for the day are pretty much in line with yours. some chicken soup, lots of rest, DU, and probably get a bit of time inon my Morrowind game. Here's hoping we both get better quick..

2. Morowind? I do WOW, thanks to my husband and daughter
It helps to pass the time, doesn't it?

I just hate the damn tight chest, and I am very achy. Never thought about pinkeye virus turning into a systemic thing but it makes perfect sense. Viri are like that, blatant opportunists that they are.

I put extra brown sugar in my oatmeal this morning to treat myself. It is divine.

Hope you are better soon!

3. I would love to play WOW,
but I just have a fundamental problem with paying $40 or $50 for a game, and then paying more on top of that monthly to play it. But damn, it's an awesome game.. I started a character on a friend's account once.. I'm almost afraid my wife and kids would never see me again!

7. Yeah, I find that to be fairly unforgivable.
If there was some way to play the game without paying the monthly fee, then I could understand paying seperately. But there isn't. It's ONLY playable if you're also paying the monthly fee, which means they're double charging you.

8. I am playing on my husband's account. The servers they use for
this game must be incredible to support that game and all the players. I also play Heroes of Might and Magic which is a very fun game, turn based, you just buy the game and play it, although you can play it online however I have never investigated that aspect.

One of the interesting things about WOW is that monthly they reconfigure everything, clean up the servers, put in all the patches, updates, error corrections etc to keep the game running smooth. Currently the base game can be picked up pretty cheap from what my daughter told me. I still don't know if I want to.

I am still undecided as to whether I want my own account. When my husband is not in the field,he plays it a lot here at home and only one of our PC's will currently support it, so when he is home I will not have much chance at computer time. He is rebuilding our daughter's PC so she can play from home. This is all her fault by the way because she and her boss are the ones who got us started with it...they play it at work when they do not have customers ..there are 3 PC's in the shop and all of them will run the game. So they all get on together and do group things.

6. No news - they called for references last Monday
But I haven't heard anything else. I know these offices move VEERRRRRYYY slowly - but I am getting discouraged. Everyone keeps telling me to call them and inquire, but I LOATHE doing that.

9. calling for references is a good sign, maybe. Still home sick today
hopefully tomorrow I will feel better. This thing slammed into me Saturday night like a train and I was sickest Sunday, what a drag.

I had a similar event last year and missed 4 days of work but it started on a Tuesday ..maybe I can get back to work tomorrow. At least I have the sick time.

Anyway, if they didn't ask for references @ interview and want them now, that should be a good thing. I hate to "call and inquire" also, why don't they just send us emails or something to keep us informed that we are at least still in the running?

ugh.

Well thanks for the note and have a great day.
