Yay, I can breathe again!
My allergies have been driving me crazy for the past several weeks and I've been getting lots of sinus headaches -- this despite the Flonase, Allegra and Singular. I went to the doctor this morning for my flu shot and to ask about the allergies.

He gave me a shot of depomedrol, which I've never had before and it's already kicking in. I was sniffling for hours, but all of a sudden I can breathe freely and my face doesn't hurt from the pressure. It's like a miracle. :bounce:

1. my mom used to have to get the depomed every fall, worked
wonders and helped keep her asthma from kicking in too. I have been given that when I had an acute chest inflammation and it really helps, with a bonus that your achy joints, arthritis etc won't hurt for about a week either.

on the down side you may put on about 5 pounds because that stuff makes you HUNGRY

2. I have asthma as well
and when my allergies get bad, it causes problems, too.

About the weight, it's a constant battle because of all the stuff I already take. How come I never get the nausea side effect? ;-) If I didn't get a ton of exercise, I'm sure I would be up to 200 pounds by now. But, I have to watch that also because I'm prediabetic. All this joy and I'm only 44. I can't imagine what 64 is going to be like.

The kicker is that I'm a vegetarian, exercise nearly every day and eat a diet that's approaching 1/2 organic. (Would be more if the cost wasn't as high.)

4. I used to work for a vet who used depo a lot
Mostly for Flea Allergic Dermatitis. Glad it helped - does it have any side effects like sleepiness? That's one thing I hate about sinus meds - I have the same problem you do. :hi:

5. That's great that you found something that works.
:)

I hope it works long-term.

7. took my last Sudafed yesterday , but it has been a while since I
bought some so hopefully won't have much trouble. My kid has some "new sudafed" but I can't take that PE stuff.
