How about this little bit of trivia? The Yankees have not won a world series with a Republican in the White House since 1958.

The Boston Red Sox had not won a world series ever since they sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees, until a few years ago in this new century. They did not win the world series for over 90 years.

Well the Yankees have not won a world series with a Republican in the White House for 49 years. The last World series that the Yankees won with a Republican in the white house occurred in 1958 when the Yankees defeated the Milwaukee Braves in 7 games, 4 games to 3 with Republican Dwight Eisenhower in the White House. The Yankees had not won a world series with Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George Herbert Walker Bush, and so far none while George W bush resides in the White House for 6 1/2 years.

Now this appears a coincidence. You could look it up and see for yourself.

the only team from last year in the playoffs again this year. To me, that's indicative that they use their financial leverage to get what they want.

Besides, any true baseball fan knows anything can happen in these short series (exhibit A, the Cardinals last year).

It's the fact that they're there year in and year out that makes the rest of us sick of them and their money bags owner!

So Cassandra and I like to go watch the English soccer.
