PETA to K-Fed: You won custody of your kids, now get custody of Britney's dogs
PETA Hounds K-Fed to Get Brit's Pups

PETA wants Kevin Federline to take custody of Britney's dogs too. Say it with us, everyone, "Leave Britney alone!"

In a letter from PETA Prez Ingrid E. Newkirk, she writes to Fed-Ex: "For the sake of your children and the animals who are at risk while in Ms. Spears' custody, we hope that you will do the right and best thing for all involved and pursue a custody order for the animals so that your sons can continue to have the company of the animals they've grown to adore."

It is unclear whether Newkirk was referring only to canine species or other people surrounding Britney.

1. Yes, let's all pile on this woman
PETA should know that children that young like to hit animals and be rough with them like toys. They dont understand the difference. Shows that PETA is just using this situation to try and get publicity.
I have little sympathy for Britney, but come on PETA.

5. I think the poster means that the kids are potentially worse for
the dogs than Britney herself.

That may or may not be true, but I have seen some little kids (mostly boys) be REALLY mean to pets. To the point where the pets won't stay in the same room with them. One little boy I know pretty much constantly beats up his pet dog (a huge Lab) and his parents let him. The dog gets genuinely hurt and is scared to death of that kid!

6. I hope you will call animal control
cruelty is cruelty no matter the age of the perpetrator. Thanks for explaining that post, it confused me. I do think there is cause to be alarmed about the treatment of these pets that these celebutantes take on like they are accessories. I sincerely hope that Spears pays someone to care for her animals.

7. Yeah, I've thought about calling animal control but since it's a kid
I really don't think they'll act on it (because it's basically a parenting issue).

And yes, I hope Britney takes care of her pets. It's hard to know what goes on behind closed doors.

8. they have to by law
it's not an issue of who is doing the abusing, it's that the animal is being mistreated. I saw an animal cops one time where this guy was caught on camera kicking a stray dog that came into a school and animal control went to court and took his own pets out of his home, that was even before they tried him for the cruelty charge. You would be doing the kid a favor, he needs help, before his problems escalate.

9. Well, he's only four.
Which is why I don't think the authorities will intervene.

But he is really mean to the dog.

10. Children at one and two don't understand that dogs can be hurt

and they need to be watched like hawks when they are around animals.

My son was a great dog lover as a toddler, but he needed careful supervision. He would try to ride them and give them the biggest hug he could. I wasn't up to supervising him around animals full-time at that age and we didn't own a dog. When he was seven, we got him a dog. My son and his dog grew up together and were great buddies. Our dog Katie passed when my son was 22. The whole family was broken-hearted, but she had lived a full life.

I don't think ole K-fed ever planned to be a full-time custody Dad and isn't up to taking on the dogs too. K-fed probably had in mind being a part-time Baby-daddy with child support.

PETA should find something else to do besides inserting themselves into this tragic situation.
