Please help me form a right wing blog
Edited on Sun Oct-07-07 09:12 PM by WileEcoyote
Not kidding actually. While the mere concept is disgusting there's just way too much money waiting on the ground for me to ignore the concept.

Many years ago I worked as a commissioned employee to a long since defunct fringe GOP enterprise. NONE of the money went to the party at all. Made a decent living for a couple years and even helped put my first wife through college.

Well that same kind of dough is just sitting there waiting to be picked up. I can see boiler rooms from sea to shining sea pitching "Stop Hillary" on the phone. Then giving half the money to the phone solicitor and the other half to the Sierra Club.

Just mention Hillary Clinton and these knuckle dragging cretins will open their wallets fast.

As described I admit the concept is probably a criminal scam, but a darn good idea. There might be a way to mildly buffer the enterprise to make it legal. Things like sending a pittance to the GOP while pocketing the difference.

Anyway back in the Late 1970's this is what i did. Oddly telephone solicitors are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Forget about what you've heard. We had grandmas, college students, hot chix with piercings and ordinary middle class types looking for night work.

I had a lot of freaky wing nut clients on my sucker list. It's not for the faint of heart. Sort of the desperate job you take after getting out of alcohol rehab. In my case I was just an out of work musician. My boss allowed me to drink beer on the job. I sold more that way. Paid well enough too. One guy I called would sit and rail against Blacks, Gays, Latinos, Chinese for twenty full minutes. Then he'd give me his credit card number and I'd make about a hundred bucks for the call. Not bad cake for 1980.

And it's just a waitin' to be pilfered right now. I say it's a great way to create JOBS, develop speaking and other work skills while keeping hard cash AWAY from the real GOP candidates.

Wish i was still doing it at times...

1. I've suggested that here before,
albeit tongue-in-cheek at the time. I do think it's a very viable business idea.

3. Would take very little capital to get going
Then just hire some out of work kids and pay them a good commission. Teaches job skills and sales technique. Helps to have some kind of newsletter that gets published.

We used to borrow some crap from General Singlaub and the righties would eat it up sideways.

things like:

"Two of America's top former military commanders warn that America could quickly find itself in a global war. In an exclusive interview as part of NewsMax's Presidential Briefing series, Adm. Thomas Moorer and Gen. Jack Singlaub reveal several disturbing concerns about a major escalation in the months ahead ... Both have unassailable credentials. Adm. Moorer served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation's highest-ranking military official, and helped bring the Vietnam War to an end. Gen. Singlaub is former chief of staff for U.S. forces in South Korea. In addition to serving as a field commander, he was also assigned to the CIA and is an expert on unconventional warfare. Moorer and Singlaub have held combat command positions in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Both share the view that the likelihood of a greater war is strong, and fear that if several fronts opened up against the U.S. in hot spots like Taiwan and Korea, the results could be catastrophic for the United States."

5. Yeah, if you were starting with a blog and a newsletter.
I know there'd be plenty of sources to glean information from.

6. I swear that I'd be incredibly cruel
but not as bad as some of the GOP fund raisers I've met. Some would solicit donations from the widow of the deceased the very day that he died. Seen it with my own eyes.

Best thing to do is to work the fear card (am I being serious?).

"The country just can't take another Clinton in the White House" Then bash civil unions Hollywood the whole "Liberal media" plot.

It would be hysterically fun and good as gold.

9. Playing into their fears would be golden.
Just remember Y2K and the fortunes made off that fear.

4. Well, I know HTML and whatnot if you need help with that.
I'm afraid I'm no good over the phone though. Had a speech impediment as a kid, and even though it was fixed by speech therapy, I still stutter mumble enough that I'm not much use over the phone.

7. Just manage the office for me
Edited on Sun Oct-07-07 11:44 PM by WileEcoyote
You just keep an employment wanted ad going at all times. Draw against commission. Only have a little preparation in advance.

Get the voter registration lists from all your adjacent counties and districts. Look up the phone numbers one by one using the 'net. Takes a little time. This is where either patience or a little capital comes in handy.

Then work a script for each applicant:

Hello Mr. Jones? Listen this is Dave Williams down at the republican office and I just want to know how you've been. Good, Glad to hear it.

Now Mr. Jones, may i call you Bob? Yes now Bob I can't tell you how concerned we are about preventing another Clinton administration in the White House. This is a SERIOUS SITUATION. So starting today we're calling for the support of every republican we can possibly reach. And what i want to know is can we count on YOUR SUPPORT Bob?

Well that's great. (shows enthusiasm)

Now Bob I'm sure you can appreciate some the expense involved in trying to reach another million uncommitted voters. So I'd like to put you down for Three hundred (DON'T say "dollars, just three hundred) That would help us reach another thousand voters. No is that OK?

(notice how I end every statement with a question. CONTROLS the conversation. Yes I'm pure evil).

(Replies that he's retired on a fixed income)

Well I'm glad you told me that Bob because I've got strict orders not to ask anyone on a fixed income (he;s probably got twenty million in rental property anyway the cheap bastard). So I'll just go ahead and put you down for two hundred, is that OK?

Good.

Now Bob there's another way you can help us save on billing expense and that's to put this on your Visa or Mastercard. Do you have either of these?

(always ends in a question again CONTROLS the conversation)

Gets the number, thanks the man profusely and promises him that he'll receive his copy of the "Republican Gazette" or whatever rag you feel like publishing.

Then call it in the the credit card company and shazzamm: Instant cash.

I know. This is how i lived for 2 and 1/2 years...

THEN:

You invite local small time GOP politicos over to your office for free interviews. Get their comments in your stinking rag and send this paper out to all your new subscribers. DO NOT actually send much (if any) money to their party or campaign.

By giving them space in the paper you've effectively done the job of "supporting republican causes". really all that you're doing is preaching to the choir...

Politicians are usually just dying to get attention . Especially all the Chamber of Commerce types and wannabees.
