A delicate yet graphic "lady question" for the women of the lounge
I'm going to the walk-in clinic this afternoon but to ease my mind in the meantime (not seeking definitive medical advice!)

Can you have a bladder infection without burning? I've got other symptoms (extreme cramping and some blood but not enough to be menstrual) but I'm missing that lovely burning sensation that usually goes with a bladder infection. As I said, I'm going to the clinic this afternoon but I'm hoping for some reassurance in the meantime. I have no insurance and so I'm hoping this is just a bladder infection and thus cheap to treat but I'm worried that it's something more serious because I've never had a bladder infection without the burn and there really isn't enough blood to be a period. ARGH I hate being a woman.

1. Good luck.
A quick test will show if there's an infection, asymptomatic or not.

2. It's been so long since I've had a bladder infection
so I wouldn't know. But good luck at the clinic. :hi:

3. I've had raging UTIs with no burning, only constant need to pee.
I only got the burning once.

With me cloudy urine is the giveaway symptom.

5. Yep, I thought of a kidney infection as well.
Blood in the urine but maybe not a burning could indicate a kidney infection or maybe even a kidney stone. "Cramping" might actually be pain from the kidney. Still easy enough to treat with an antibiotic or other drugs, so no need to panic. Even IF it i a kidney stone it is treatable.

I also wondered about spotting or breakthru bleeding. Could for sure result in cramping and might be a problem with hormones or BC pills. Can't really tell from the OP if the blood is a constant thing or only present in the urine. Again, not something to panic about even if it is unpleasant to deal with.

My main message is don't panic, and you are doing the right thing to see the Doc.

6. Yup, but I would think it would more likely be a kidney infection.
I've had those and not even realized it.

7. I decided to go in this morning and yup, urinary tract infection
and a rather bad one at that. I'm even running a fever but I wasn't aware of it until they took my temp. Fortunately, the antibiotics are generic so I got out of there spending less than $75. Thank the flying spaghetti monster!

9. It may not be bladder
You can have a UTI and have it NOT be the bladder.

It could be a kidney infection...
