I get to go speak to a bunch o' high schoolers on Thursday.
A woman from the high school called me this morning and asked if I'd come speak to her child development class about children with disabilities.

It's at my old high school; I haven't been there in over ten years.
This should be a trip.
I'm totally going to run in the halls AND be late for class.
Ok. I won't be late, but I might run.

:P :D

3. Try not to traumatize them *too* bad.
:P

Seriously, though - sounds like a lot of fun. And really, what is high school without a little bit of trauma, anyway?

5. I'm planning on sobbing through most of the discussion,
followed by an assortment of effective non-verbal gestures to include: fist pounding, arm flailing, stomping, squatting, and (if I have time) drawing stick figures jousting, on the chalkboard.

4. She sounds like a good teacher
There is nothing like someone speaking from real life experience to facilitate the learning process.

Good luck and I hope visiting your old high school will bring back some good memories :hi:.

6. I suspect she is.
It should be interesting to revisit the old halls. A lot of the teachers I had still work there.

9. Any confessions?
I told one former teacher that it was me who threw a snowball at him in the hallway. He didn't remember but told me to watch out 'cause he was gonna spill his drink on me before the evening was over. He didn't though.
