Why am I sad tonight?
I really have no reasons for it...

But I am...

I'm thinking about OMC and the loss of his beautiful Stacey...

And what this must mean to him and his boys...

I'm also thinking about my life...

The people I've known and loved...

They have come and gone, and they have left their marks on my heart and soul...

Some days I am so full of sorrow, and others so full of joy...

And love is always the reason...

It is always worth it, though...

For me, to love is to be alive...

Whatever pain comes with it is worth it ...

Remember that I love you all...

8. Peg I think every time someone we love dies a little piece of us goes with them.
That's why its not so hard to leave when you are 85 or 90. When my dad died all I could think was "why cant I go too????" I still wont mind dying, because I know he's there.

12. That is what it feels like
when something you love dies, there is this gaping void of pain inside, like a piece has been devoured.

19. A very dear family friend stayed with us while he was in his last days
(cancer/morphine/etc.) She is a pisces (psychic) and she got up one night because she heard voices. She walked in to check on my dad (who had slipped in to eternity but was still alive). We were all staying in my parents house so that my dad could be taken care of and die at home, in front of a Rockies or Broncos game. Well when she got upstairs to see what the noise was it was a woman at the foot of my dad's bed, talking to him. Our friend said the positive energy and love emanating from this being was just spectacular, and that she was helping my dad transition (my dad didn't want to leave because of my two young kids, he was worried that he wouldn't be able to protect them).

Because if we didn't, how would we recognize happiness, contentment, or satisfaction when it comes our way?

26. For you
WHISPER

A quiet whisper
in my mind
flows lightly
through my thoughts
and gently disappears
A single butterfly
that flits from
here to there
in innocence
and simple joy
of living
then is forgotten
all too soon
A memory
A word
A quiet whisper
in my mind

29. I'm sorry that you're feeling
sad tonight. :(

I feel that way sometimes too. Sad for no specific reason, but for many reasons in general.

Love is double-edged that way...the same things that bring you great joy also bring great sadness. But then, the alternative is far, far worse.
