I hate the people who stole my card number!!
I canceled my debit card last night. Today, at the suggestion of the bank lady, I closed my account...leaving just enough money to cover the two outstanding checks. I won't get new checks or a new debit card for a good week. Well, I did get those checks with no number, etc, that stores don't really want. But other than that, I feel as if I have no money--or at least not access to the money I do have.

Btw, they bought $2800 worth of stuff. About $1200 of it was caught before being shipped, so that won't be billed. The rest I have to file disputes for. Actually, the bank does all the paperwork for this. The bank has been surprisingly good about all this.

I got done with all this bank stuff, and headed to Subway for lunch...only to realize that I had no cash and no debit card. Headed back to the bank to cash one of those checks only the bank recognizes.

And some asshole is listening to $643 worth of sound equipment in $293 shoes while I have to deal with all of this. The lady at the bank assures me it's still somehow safe to use debit cards online. Yeah, right.

1. That guy is an asshole.
I would have spent $2000 on stereo equipment and $100 on shoes. What the fuck kind of priorities do fraudsters have these days?

(Sorry you're going through this, by the way...)

2. He tried to buy $1300 worth of stereo equipment,
the second shipment was stopped at the distribution center. They called to make sure I'd be there for the delivery. I told them not to ship it.

3. That's a little better. If he only got half of it, can we hope that he didn't get the
part that you actually listen through?
