My Kitty is back from surgery
Meet Periwinkle.
http://imgred.com/tn/

Only now, she's got only half the tail you see in the picture. Somehow last week, her tail got broken.
We're still not sure how. We knew there was some kind of injury, but it never seemed to be broken.

Took her to the vet yesterday and he said that half the tail was dead. It had to be amputated.

Got her back today, all hopped up on ketamine (sp?).

She's fine, but we're trying to keep her calm so she won't chew her bandage off (she's done it once already).

She's a tough cat.

2. Well, she's never lost her appetite
She'll finish whatever you put in front of her.

Today, she got a special treat of tuna.

3. The vet didn't send her home in one of these?
Pretty standard, especially after surgery to keep them from chewing off bandaging.

Sorry your poor baby had to have that surgery. Hope she heals quickly!

10. Do Canadian kitties have universal health care, too?
:-)

A similar thing happened to my friend's Samantha (would you believe a cat with Liz Taylor violet eyes?!). Her roommate stepped on Samantha's tail, and part of it (considerably less than half) died and fell (or was taken) off. :( He shortly became her ex-roommate!!

12. Poor kitty
When my dog broke her leg we ended up having to keep her tranquilized for weeks so she could heal. I hope Periwinkle is a more cooperative patient. She's beautiful. Please give her an extra ear scritch and tell her it's from me.

13. Good vibes for Periwinkle!

I wish you much patience as she tries to get at the bandages. I wish her good health as she recovers.
