I need some recommendations for Hawaiian music.
My sisters twins are having a birthday party (7 years old) on Saturday. I am in charge of music. She only needs about 60 minutes of a music mix. The party has a Hawaiian theme. Can anyone recommend songs or artists with a Hawaiian theme that are from the 50's or 60's. Her examples were early Elvis and The Beach Boys.

I need to get the songs from iTunes or illegal means. So, this isn't the best time to prove your knowledge of obscure island music. Basic stuff that easy to find from my chair would be ideal.

1. I did a Hawaiian theme for my kid's birthday a few years ago -- fun!
Not Hawaiian per se but Limbo Rock is a good one, plus check out the Lilo and Stich soundtracks for stuff. Have fun!

5. Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
His version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is pretty popular.

But if you want more surf music than Hawaiian music, I recommend Beach Boys, The Ventures ("Hawaii 5-0" or "Walk Don't Run" is probably their most popular), The Surfaris, and Dick Dale.
