Do you drink green tea regularly?
I used to have it whenever at an asian restaurant and would often have a cup of it at home now and again. But ever since I started drinking it regularly (3-6 cups per day) I feel really good. Then I read this: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=146

I am hooked. How about yourself?

2. Yes
I don't give a fig about alleged health benefits, I just like the taste. Also, for various reasons, fresh milk at work is an ongoing issue which I find easier to avoid - so I drink green tea and drink water all day at work.

I've become hooked on chai lattes to start my day. I use soy milk and sometimes a scoop of protein powder. Yummy. :-)

7. I like it, but don't drink it like as often as I should.
That may change since cooler weather is coming. A store nearby has a sale on Twinnings tea so was planning on getting a box of that and some black tea also. Thanks for the link.

8. Yes, I drink a lot - I get mine from a store in Kyoto, Ipodo is the name I think
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 12:11 PM by Rabrrrrrr
But I won't bet money on remembering that name perfectly.

I love green tea! Especially Japanese - they really know how to make it perfectly.

For white tea, and Spring and Winter tea, I go with Taiwanese, from TenRen.

10. A few years back someone gave me some cold green tea on a very hot day
I was parched, so I was grateful for the refreshment.

However...

I have to say honestly that it was about the worst drink I'd ever tasted. I couldn't believe that anyone would drink it on purpose.

This was before the current green tea "fad" had taken hold, so maybe I got a sample with less mass-appeal, but it really was foul.

Horrible! I wouldn't drink it again even if I were a character in a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel traveling the barren countryside with my son!

16. Salada Tea makes an awesome green tea with purple antioxidants
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 12:28 PM by judaspriestess
with a natural blueberry taste, it is so good :)

Grape skins combine with Rooibos (Red Bush) and Anthocyanins from Hibiscus and Salada Decaffeinated Green Tea for a unique antioxidant blend that also has a refreshing natural blueberry taste. We've added 170 mg of grape skin extract, 140 mg of South African Rooibos, and 7mg of Anthocyanins from Hibiscus along with 30% of your recommended daily intake (RDI) of Vitamin C to Salada Decaffeinated Green Tea, decaffeinated using only water and effervescence.

on edit: I found it on sale at the grocery store $2 for a box of 20

17. from what I read....
...we all should be taking in more of these foods:

green tea
almonds -- a handful a day
blueberries
broccoli
tomatoes
oily fish
olive oil

I'm working on it all.

Almonds are about to undergo a change, as the government has decided that they must be pasteurized now. They may not taste the same or be as nutritious after that.

25. One big thing to go...
the fucking cigarettes. I keep telling my husband, "It's my last freaking vice!" Whenever I try to quit, I really question whether human beings are meant to face the reality of the world with no filters whatsoever. Nothing between me and the cold, hard truth. It's a toughie!

36. Lots of thread s on Green tea in years past
For newbies, I recall my review as follows:

1. Good Earth green tea (with lemon grass), superb tea, sweet, but not overly so.

2. TAZO, good but too grassy for some, not me.

3. The Republic of Tea, many different flavors greens(mostly from differnet herbs and blossoms, Very pungently aromatic. Smells like candy, but tastes very smooth and not nearly as sweet as you would think

4. Stash and Twinings--ok but not special

Lipton is crap-made from tea dust, not even the leaves

Then there are the gazzilion house specialty and organic green teas. They are very pricey. I'm sure some of them are better than Good earth. But which one is a matter of research trial and error.

did you know the real tea ceremony tea in japan is made from a powder? dear jesus, it's gruesome!

i'll stick with the vending machine beer as my vote for japan's greatest beverage innovation

39. I tried, and I still have boxes and boxes of unused
green tea. Probably it would be smart to drink it, but it is rather inconvenient for me to make it and, secondly, I think I'm quite healthy and I sure eat well, exercise and take a ton of supplements. But frequently I regret that I dropped that green tea habit.
